Overview

Built by Shah Abbas I the Great at the beginning of the 17th century in Isfahan, and bordered on all sides by monumental buildings linked by a series of two-storeyed arcades, the site is known for the Royal Mosque, the Mosque of Sheykh Lotfollah, the magnificent Portico of Qaysariyyeh and the 15th-century Timurid palace. They are an impressive testimony to the level of social and cultural life in Persia during the Safavid era.

 

 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The tour will start at 10:00 A.M in the morning in front of Isfahan's grand bazaar (Qeysarieh). We learn more about this beautiful square and its history. In the Safavid dynasty, Isfahan was the capital of Iran and we can see they tried to show their power in this square.
  • After exploring bazaar we will see Sheikh Lotfolah mosque it is one the most beautiful mosque in the world. We will know about its secrets. Our next stop is the royal mosque on the northside of the square; it is famous for the tallest minaret and dumbs in Isfahan.
  • After these sites it is lunchtime; you have two options if you know any place where you want to go you can go by yourself or you can ask your tour guide to suggest you a good restaurant.
  • After lunch, it time to see AliQapu palace in the west part of the square; it is built on 6 floors with a big balcony and a perfect view of Naghsh Jahan square. For sure you can take your best pictures there.
  • After this palace, we will go to see Isfahan metal handicraft bazaar. Your tour guide will tell you about making the process of Isfahan handicrafts.
  • The last but not the least, Chehel Sotun Palace. It is located in the middle of a Persian garden. The king uses it as a place for official meetings. This palace has the most beautiful painting in Iran.
