Hamedan city is believed to be among the oldest Iranian civilizations. It is in a green mountainous area in the foothills of Alvand Mountain, in the midwest part of Iran. The distinctive nature and historic sites of this ancient city attract numerous tourists during the summer. The major sights of this city are Ganj Nameh inscription, Avicenna monument, and Baba Taher monument. It is also located approximately 360 kilometers (220 miles) southwest of Tehran. The majority of the population is Persian; however, there is a considerable Azerbaijani minority mostly in the suburbs.
Varkaneh guesthouse in Hamadan is in Varkaneh village in 20 km of Hamadan. The building is based on indigenous materials, mostly stone, and wood. The guest house in Hamadan has made all efforts to use the original equipment of the region in the building. So the pottery(a prevalent artifact in Hamedan), Korsi heating system, old lights, local bedding and … are used.
